Origin of this Space

Why write a book about Spinoza? Why create this website? And what inner path connects the two?

This website was born from the desire to extend a reflection initiated in Awakening with Spinoza, an essay by Antonio Lauricella.

Its purpose is not merely to present a book, but to open a space where philosophy, spirituality, and inner experience may continue to enter into dialogue freely.

With a scientific background, I was not naturally destined to encounter Spinoza as one encounters a companion along the way.

I grew up within a Christian tradition, with all that it can transmit of light, love, and depth, but also at times fear, confusion, or guilt.

Early on, I felt a tension between the spiritual impulse I had received and the demand for lucidity that reason awakened within me.

Discovering Spinoza marked a turning point. His philosophy did not appear to me as an abstract intellectual construction, but as a possibility of reconciliation: between faith and intelligence, intuition and rigor, inner life and understanding of reality.

In his thought, I recognized a path in which reason is not cold, but living — not opposed to spirituality, but capable of illuminating it and sometimes even transforming it.

This website continues that movement. It is conceived as a simple and living space, centred on the book, its intention, and the dialogue it may inspire around Spinoza, consciousness, emotions, inner freedom, and certain contemporary perspectives.

This space does not seek to impose a doctrine or a system.

It simply hopes to offer a place for reflection and resonance, open to those who sense that a demanding philosophy may also become a source of inner light.
